Psychological Disorder: The Series
Psychological disorder: The series
This series of photographs attempts to visualize various conditions of the brain that are not always visual. Although the outward ramifications often go unnoticed, these conditions are very real and can affect an innate part of the sufferer’s being. Because of this, mental illnesses are often misunderstood and misconceived. I attempt to illustrate and communicate the emotions such as depression, confusion, shame and even torment that those struggling with psychological disorders experience internally and endure on a regular basis. I strive for others to understand that just because these illnesses cannot be outwardly seen, they mustn’t go unseen.
